Aesthetician Services and Skin Care
Helping you achieve healthy, refreshed
skin is an important part of our practice. Developing and
practicing good skin care not only makes you look and feel
better now but can help you maintain that look for years
to come. Our aesthetic specialist, Kathleen Griesemer,
RN, CRNA, not only provides a variety of treatments to
help restore and rejuvenate the skin but also helps educate
our patients in proper skin health habits. Her extensive
medical background, combined with advanced training in
aesthetic treatments, makes her the perfect person to advise
you on the many products and treatments available today.
Aesthetician services provided in our office are different from those found at your local salon or day spa. Although our treatments are performed in a comfortable, private setting, complete with the pampering your receive at a spa, these treatments are part of a medically supervised regimen that allows us to medial grade products and treatments unavailable outside a medical setting to help you achieve better results.
Our skin care consultations and treatments are included with many of our cosmetic surgical procedures. Good pre-operative skin care helps us enhance the results of your operation, while post-operative treatments will maintain those results. We feel strongly that good skin health is an essential factor in your outcome and encourage you to take advantage of treatments that are included as part of your cosmetic procedure.
We offer a wide range of skin health services and products and are constantly evaluating new ones as they become available. Some of the skin conditions that can be improved are: chronic dry skin, fine lines, large pores, blemished skin, uneven pigmentation and blotchiness, rough and sun-damaged skin, and acne.
Your skin is important. It deserves professional care.
When it comes to your skin, you deserve the skin care which can be provided by medical professionals. Our physicians work closely with Kathleen Griesemer to develop a treatment plan just right for you. Not only does she have 20 years of experience as a registered nurse, she is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and member of the Society of Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists, Association of Medical Esthetics nurses, and Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals. Her background and training assure that you are in good hands so that you can achieve the results you want with the safety you expect. Don’t settle for anything less.
Services
Chemical peels
Chemical peels use a chemical solution applied to the skin to improve and smooth the texture by removing the damaged outer layers. It is helpful for those individuals with facial blemishes, wrinkles, and uneven skin pigmentation. There are many different types of chemical peels. Since every patient’s skin type and concerned are unique, we will design a treatment plan specifically for you.
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a skin rejuvenating technique that helps repair facial skin damaged by sun exposure and the effects of aging. We utilize a device that sprays tiny salt crystals across the skin, mixing gentle abrasion with suction to remove the outer layer of skin. This treatment results in virtually no downtime and patients can return to normal activities right away. As with many other “no down time” skin rejuvenation techniques, a series of treatments may be required to achieve the desired effect.
Facials
Facials are a non-medical grade of skin rejuvenation and pampering. A combination of exfoliants, moisturizers, and massage will help prepare your skin for that special event or simply provide a relaxing refinishing treatment with a spa type flare.
Facial waxing
Facial waxing is a non-surgical surgical method of removing unwanted facial hair as well as shaping a beautiful eyebrow.
Camouflage Make-Up:
Most patients are understandably eager to return to their normal activities after reconstructive or cosmetic procedures. How quickly you do so depends on two factors: how you feel physically and how you look. We will advise you on your physical limitations and when you may begin using camouflage makeup. By using the recommended crème camouflage makeup or dye-free mineral powder you can safely cover the bruising and redness that often follows surgical procedures and feel more confident in the presence of others, allowing you to return to work and social activities sooner. In addition, camouflage makeup can be used to cover permanent skin discoloration from birthmarks, scars, loss of pigment, and other conditions which cannot be fully erased by medical or surgical means.
Skin Care Products
We offer a full line of medical and non-medical grade skin care products. We have carefully selected the best products from multiple manufactures including SkinCeuticals, Physician’s Choice of Arizona, Theraderm, Elta, and others to provide the basis of a skin care regimen that is right for you.
